Creative Visualizations/Intentions

I've been thinking about creative visualizations and how we call those intentions these days. Whatever our desire, a tested, helpful tool to make dreams come true is to visualize with intent and then do the footwork toward the goal, one step at a time.

I have also found that a symbol helps deepen the work. A picture is worth a thousand words applies here.

I was teaching a class on Writing As Spiritual Practice at the College of Marin when it occurred to me that the teachings of the class would be a good book. I had never written a book but very much admired those who did. It was the first time I really set an intention. I could see writing it each morning before work. I used the symbol of the morning glory to deepen the idea that each day brings new possibilities. I saw water lilies on the cover: a symbol to me of growth using bed rock mud, water, and air. All of it!

The result was Stirring the Waters: Writing to Find Your Spirit which was named one of the best books of 2001 by the Independent Booksellers. By 2009, I was the author of ten books.

Here in the San Francisco bay area we have many resources to find a group that does meditation or trance work. It's good to learn to do this deep relaxation so visualizations can be deeply implanted in your subconscious. The visualization meditation or trance work can become a daily practice. Meditation helps you clear your mind; creative visualizations fill your mind, all for the highest good.

I am thinking of short classes on various techniques. Let me know what you might be interested in. Thanks and best all.
